Atlantic Climbing School (ACS) is a full service climbing guide service based in Acadia National Park. For 20 years ACS has specialized in small, custom guided and instructional courses on rock, ice and snow. These small courses are ideal for individuals, couples, families, and groups. With our focused curriculum, at ACS we orchestrate climbing courses that routinely exceed our client’s expectations.
ACS is one of just 30 programs in the US to be accredited by the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA).
All of our staff are either certified AMGA Rock Guides, Rock Instructors, or Single Pitch Instructors and we are proud to be the ONLY guide service in Maine to have this distinction.
At ACS, we pride ourselves on our sterling reputation. With an outstanding safety record and our experienced staff of professional guides, we strive every day to continue to be Maine’s premier climbing school.
ACS conducts most of its summer and winter courses in Acadia National Park and in the Camden Hills area. Acadia’s unique sea cliffs and Camden’s varied terrain are ideal locations for everyone from the first-time climber up to experienced veterans. These two locations offer some of Maine’s best rock, ice, and mountain climbing adventures. Our winter programs also include Cross Country Skiing and snowshoeing.
The ACS curriculum is extensive but focused — refined from more than thirty years of climbing and guiding experience. We consider each client unique, with a special combination of experience, skills, age, and fitness. For this reason the content of all of our courses can be personalized to meet the specific goals or needs of each client. That is also why ACS client-to-guide ratios remain small. We feel strongly that these factors are vital to helping us consistently deliver a quality course for every client.
In fun, in professional commitment, in everything we do — at Atlantic Climbing School, WE CLIMB HIGHER.
