ACS conducts all its courses in Acadia. With its varied climbing
terrain and unique seacliffs, Acadia National Park is an ideal location
for the first-time climber as well as the experienced veteran.
While many climbing schools in the United States offer courses in multiple locations, some to all corners of
the globe, ACS has deliberately chosen to focus exclusively on Acadia National Park. This unique area has been our home for over twenty-five years and we welcome the opportunity to share
it with others. (ACS owner Jeff Butterfield published the first comprehensive rock climbing guidebook to Acadia National Park in 2002).
The ACS curriculum is extensive but focused,
refined from more than thirty years of climbing
and guiding experience. We consider each client unique, with
a special combination of experience, skills, age, and fitness. For this reason, the content of all of our courses can be personalized to meet the specific goals or needs
of each client. That’s also why ACS client-to-guide ratios remain small. And we are careful when matching clients together -- we would rather sacrifice revenue
than mismatch clients just to fill a course. We feel strongly that these are all important factors in helping us deliver a quality course for everyone.
